The objective of this book is to introduce Biochemistry for BSc Nursing. This book has been written to fulfil the requirements as per the new competency-based curriculum of BSc Nursing. All competencies of applied biochemistry are presented in a simple, systematically covering enough to meet the requirements as per the new curriculum of BSc Nursing. The entire text has been divided into 8 chapters that focus on Metabolism of Carbohydrates and its Alterations, Metabolism of Lipids and its Alterations, Metabolism of Amino Acids and Proteins and its Alterations, Clinical Enzymology in Various Disease Conditions, Acid-Base Balance, Imbalance and its Clinical Significance, Metabolism of Hemoglobin and its Clinical Significance, Organ Function Tests and Interpretation, and Immunochemistry. Each chapter starts with learning outcomes and content to guide students to study the content of the chapter easily. Self-assessment questions have been included at the end of the chapters, containing, long answer questions (LAQs), short answer questions (SAQs), very short answer questions (VSAQs), and multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
