Uke aspirin acetaminophen inhibits prostaglandin (PG) synthesis. The inhibition of PG synthesis is mainly in bre:tin which explains’its antipyretic and analgesic activity’. It is much less effective than aspirin as inhibitor ofPG biosyTlthetic enzyme system and therefore does not have antiinflammatory activity.
