Human Anatomy Lower Limb, Abdomen and Pelvis Volume 2
B D Chaurasia’s Human Anatomy has been serving the interests of medical students as the most popular textbook because of the simplicity of its text, lucidity of expression, clarity of discussion and remarkably vivid detailing in the illustrations, making human anatomy most comprehensible to learn. The three volumes have steadily been enlarging to accommodate gross anatomy, histology, embryology and detailed clinical anatomy. Numerous colour line diagrams support the text of gross, surface and clinical anatomy. Because of the size, it is difficult for the students to revise the volumes prior to their class tests and examinations. The COMPANION POCKETBOOKs on the volumes have been designed and brought out giving only the essential components highlighting “must know” of anatomy. Content of each pocketbook is almost one-third the size of the main volume, meant mainly for quick last minute revision of the “volatile anatomy”. The illustrations are aimed at helping the students review the topics easily as well as retaining and reproducing the information clearly in their examinations. Clinical aspects are induded with equal intensity. Mainly meant for first professional undergraduate students, they could also use these for quick reference during their clinical postings HIGHLIGHTS OF VOLUME 2 Section I on Lower Limb briefly describes bones of lower limb. Muscles of various regions and muscles producing movements at various joints are tabulated. All these sections are supplemented by clinical anatomy. Supports of arches of the foot are enumerated. Appendix 1 of this pocketbook contains the nerves of lower limb with their branches and arteries of lower limb in tabulated manner and the clinical terms. Section II on Abdomen and Pelvis contains main features of lumbar vertebrae and sacrum. Inguinal canal is described with its mechanism. Various hernias have been described as these are of clinical importance. Peritoneum is described briefly with clinical importance. Systems like gastrointestinal, urinary, male and female reproductive systems are described briefly with emphasis on clinical anatomy. Appendix 2 contains pudendal nerve, abdominal part of sympathetic trunk and autonomic nerve supply of various organs with their effects. Arteries of abdomen and pelvis are also given in a tabulated form including the clinical terms.
